About Me
Hey there! I’m Yael Lotan, a beach volleyball enthusiast residing in Tel Aviv, Israel. I’ve been hooked on volleyball for more than two decades now, starting back when I was a kid. In my teenage years, I devoted most of my time to volleyball and took part in Israel’s indoor national team. But my heart was always on the beach.
Back when I was 12, I used to glue myself to the TV watching AVP tournaments on ESPN, dreaming about the day I’d be out there playing.
As the years rolled by, reality hit—I wasn’t gonna be a pro beach volleyball star. Ended up coaching beach volleyball for a while, but felt there was something else calling my name. Now, I’m a front-end developer in a cyber company, a career that I love, but beach volleyball is still my jam.
One of my favorite things is kicking back and watching tournaments, breaking down every play. My buddies tease me, calling me the “beach volleyball encyclopedia” because I’m all about knowing the ins and outs of the players I admire.
This blog is my spot to spill my thoughts about the world of beach volleyball. It’s a place where I can share my passion and hopefully connect with other beach volleyball lovers like yourself.
